And Also? Humble.

Conversation from my driveway this weekend:

M: Hey Ryan. Ryan. Ryan.
Ryan (neighbor, 6 years old): WHAT?
M: I'm smart. Like really smart. WAAAAAAYYY smart.
Ryan: Oh.
M: Did you know that dinosaurs are extinct?
Ryan: Yeah. They're dead.
M: Which is a good thing because I would NOT want a T-Rex to find me and eat me. I would really miss my mom. And I wouldn't be smart anymore.

  1. So my friends often talk about how I'm pretty confident. I always talk about how I'm conceited (jokingly...I'm not ACTUALLY conceited). So when I read this post, I thought, "wow, maybe it runs in the family." Confidence and intelligence probably are heritable traits - be it through genes or environment.
